“I just love helping people organise their financial affairs making sure that they’ve got a safety net. My mother struggled for ten years with a huge financial burden while my brother and I were at university. Trauma cover in those years didn’t exist and people still don’t understand how important that is.”
Geoff joined Ken Holmes Financial Services in 2009 after a long career in business development and financial services. Originally trained as an accountant, he is keen to promote a balanced approach to risk cover, which means looking at life insurance and retirement planning .
He also assists new British migrants to manage their UK pensions and explains: `Most people who come in from the UK don’t realise that if they die the pension plan vanishes, but if they transfer it to New Zealand it becomes part of their estate. Also, it is taxable in the UK and not here but if you don’t do the transfer properly the UK tax authorities can take 70% of the total.’

Geoff has lived with his family in Mission Bay for over 30 years and when he’s not helping people in the area organise their financial affairs, Geoff helps coach his daughter’s soccer team. Geoff also has a passion for fly fishing, snow skiing and walking.
